A couple weeks ago, we published our review of Uprooted, the latest novel from author Naomi Novik. It’s safe to say I liked it. A lot.
So I was excited to learn that the film rights have already been optioned. The Hollywood Reporter announced that Warner Brothers won a small bidding war over the project. It seems to be in good hands. Ellen Degeneres will produce with her A Very Good Production partner Jeff Kleeman.
The studio has put two more women, Niija Kuykendall and Julia Spiro (Now You See Me), in charge on their end. Who knows how it will shake out in the end, but it’s nice to see the adaptation starting this group of people.
