Guys. GUYS. Somehow I missed that David Ehrlich uploaded his 2015 best films video earlier this month. But now that I’ve realized it’s available, I must implore you to take 15 minutes and watch it. Ehrlich’s annual video does more than present his 25 favorite films of the year, it also ties the year of film together visually and audibly, bridging expressions, gestures, events, styles, and cinematography to give a sense of the 2015 zeitgeist.
And it’s beautifully done. Ehrlich’s editing is so smooth the films glide along on his transitions.
This is one of my favorite video essays of every year. Check this one out.
