Idris Elba Cast as Roland in ‘The Dark Tower’ Adaptation

darktowerNo, he won’t be playing Bond, but he will be taking the lead role in the film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower set for release a year from now.

Despite the now familiar nay-sayers who presume all characters are white and thus speak out against any casting of people of color in just about anything, both Stephen King and writer/producer Akira Goldsman are excited by the casting choice.

Can we call this color-washing? I’m all for it. Let’s bring more color to the screen! Elba is going to be phenomenal.
